Assuming you live in an area where line voltage is 110, just get a string of
cheap regular Xmas lights. Count up the number of bulbs and divide by
ten. Cut the string into ten even pieces, with an equal number of bulbs
on each piece. Each of those little strings will light up with a 12 volt
battery.

And you can cut a 230V string in 20 for the same effect. You can just put
'em all parallel without too many issues, for that matter. You need some
extra wires , but otherwise it's a fairly neat solution. YOu can use a
thickish (there's going to be lots more current going through than in the
original wire) double strand wire going along the entire chain that
carries the 0V and 12V and just hook each ministrand to one of those at
their beginning and end.

That one might be easier since you just have to provide *taps* rather than
actually cut the string. Then again it could be harder.

(I use 2 or 3 lights per 10th/20th as an example, BTW. You would want to
stick to strings evenly divisible by 10 (easy) or 20 (slightly harder, but
100-light strings are still standard))

I recently saw some battery powered LED strings in the seasonal stuff at
a local dollar store, sourced from China of course.

May be available in your area too.

I just got a set of each color. I put the red string on the back of my
EZ-1, I put the green on the top frame bar. I am thinking of putting
the white on the handlebars and the yellow on the lower frame bar.
