I found out yesterday that I don't even need a referral. I called an
orthopedic surgeon. I have an appointment for Tuesday morning. We
switched insurance plans this year. I was not aware of the difference.
You'd think I'd know this stuff since I work in a hospital. So I wasted
a few weeks screwing around at with my old doctor's office. As it turns
out, I already know this OS, since I helped him setup his office PC for
signing off charts electronically. The best part about this doc is that
he's a runner. His office looked much like mine, with shoes and running
shorts tossed in one corner. :-) So I'm looking forward to finally
getting a real diagnosis.
In the mean time, I'm riding my new exercise bike and lifting weights to
keep my sanity. Another positive note is that I'm missing some god-awful
running weather .
