Don't eat farmed salmon. Just don't do it. Don't. No. Stop. I'm serious.
Pink Salmon is the most commonly farmed and it should say on the label
whether it is wild or not. It's worth the extra money for the wild stuff.
i don't know if the legislation is specific to WA state or federal, but
here in WA all farm raised salmon is labeled as such
imo, it's not worth the extra money for the wild stuff. when the market
meets my expectations (ie wild salmon gets cheaper) i'll buy it
Don't hold your breath.
More salmon farms = less wild salmon (just like Scottalnd and Norway)
Less wild salmon = supply side deficiency creating a higher price.
Higher price for wild salmon = less demand = (likely) more demand for farmed
salmon
More demand for farmed salmon = more salmon farms (see above.)
Dontcha see? You're ruining an industry that has been the staple of the
Northwest for hundreds of thousands of years by buying and eating farmed
salmon.
Also, now they're doing the same stupid thing with sablefish:

It's up to concerned consumers to stop this madness.
