I have a Cannondale R600 and I'm upgrading the front derailleur to Shimano Ultegra. My bike is a nine speed (already have Ultegra on the back). LBS only has front derailleur in 10 speed and claims that none of their other stores have the Ultegra derailleur for 9 speed. The sales guy and the tech both said that it is fine to use the 10 speed derailleur and the tech said that it will even shift a little faster than it would with the 9 speed derailleur. Thoughts??? 😕 Thx.

Derf, take Boudreauxs' advice. Put on a 105. No difference in a 105 and Ultegra

Probably not. I woud assume they made sure it worked, but ya never know about LBS nose pickers.
