Wife and daughter are in a nothing-but-fastfood rut and I've found
myself influenced by it to where I'm not eating much better. A lot of
cold-sausage-and-a-hunk-of-bread meals. Or a piece of cake and 2 beers
for supper. Time to break out of my rut; maybe they will follow, maybe
not. They are not my problem.
I've started eating a bunch of fresh local apples (it's apple season
here.)
I bought 2 big packages of split chicken breasts on sale and made a big
pot of soup from the ribs, cartilage, and scraps. (then IQF's the
boneless breast portions with the skin still on)
I buy 4 pound bags of broccoli florets at Sam's Club, but I need some
other ideas how to use it before it goes bad. I like broccoli, but
remember, I'm the only one eating anything fresh. I've eaten a lot of
salads made mostly of finely chopped raw broc with a little lettuce,
onions, grated cheese, and reduced-fat dressing. I've eaten some of it
steamed with a little salt and butter. I've eaten a little just raw
straight from the bag as a snack. How else do you eat broccoli?
Thanks,
Bob
