New bikes

That is what I liked about time trials before the standard ICU bike
rules for time trials. The bike manufacturers would try to outdo each
other to build a faster more out of this world bike. I enjoyed seeing
the Hottas and the other wild designs. If I made the rules I'd make the
prologue a design free-for-all with the exception of faring and
recumbant style seating.

Any reason to forbid fairings in a prologue?

How about this - if you use a fairing in the prologue you need to use
the same fairing or same TYPE for the entire stage race? Including
possible bike changes during the race.

I think farings are going beyond the concept of one man one bicycle. I
also think that farings enter a cost factor that some teams may not be
able to afford. I realize that financing a cycling team is expensive
and a few thousand here or there on a bike will not cause extreme
hardship. But I've decided to draw my line at faring and geometery,
just because I can.

I do like your idea though. After my term as UCI president you can
change the rules when I name you my successor.

I thought RicodJur gave it away with the steering note. I questioned
when I saw how fragile they looked but was semi hooked until I read
"magnetically polarized rim that is suspended inside the frame, where
it floats inside a magnetic suspension field".

But a few of them look possible, like "the cricket".

Anyway, it was fun while it lasted. But you've wrecked it now!
