Buuying new bits to put on my replacement frame (because I could really)
I got a 2003 Chorus rear mech. This has no B-limit screw on it. Anyone
know what year these went and why it doesn't need one any more?
And while we're at it, is it just me or do the new 10 speed front mechs
have much narrower cages than the old 9 speed ones? When I went to adjust
my old mech on the new frame I found the top and bottom limit screws had
siezed...cue one new mech.
Also, the new Record Ultra ergos are a work of art. Put next to my
2000 Chorus levers the difference in weight and size is astounding.
It's also the easiest indexed gear system to set up I've ever done.
Set top limit, set low limit, turn cable adjuster two turns. Job done.
It seems to cope very well with changes in tension. Nice. And the
gear changing is much smoother than it used to be, while still retaining
that satisfying "clunk".
