The pain in my upper back is so bad now that 135 hurts and it doesn't
let up during the squat. So, I went to a new chiropractor today. He's
Dr. Fred Clary who also set a few world records in the APF as a
teenage (793 deadlift at 275 was one). Anywho, he tells me I have a
rib overlapping another and a disk out of place. He asks me when my
next meet is and I tell him I'm flying out early Friday. He asks me if
I expect him to walk on water.
So, he says he's going to be pretty rough on me today. He wasn't
kidding. I've never experiences so much pain for so long before. He
kept putting pressure on the spot I get the pain from for what seemed
like 10 minutes and he was pushing hard. Then he quickly placed his
other hand on my spine and cracks my back in such a way I feel it
throughout my back. He does the same thing in a little different spot
and then wammo, my whole back explodes again. He cracked my back once
more and then put my neck through it's paces, cracking it twice. The
last time he yells, "there it is!" and says that's enough. Then tells
me he wants to see me this afternoon.
I went back for more punishment this afternoon. He had my lay on my
belly and put heat on my upper back and neck for about 10 minutes. He
then came back and crunched my back and neck about 4 or 5 times within
about 10 seconds and said, "you're done".
So now I feel like I've been in a car accident but I don't have any
rib pain any more. Just some very sore muscles. I just hope I heal up
enough by Saturday that pain won't be an issue. Oh, and, he told me to
start doing high pulls. I guess that gives me an excuse to buy more
bumpers:-)
