  1. Does anyone else find this as annoying as I do? Very, very annoying?

Well it looks the same as it did before, to me anyway. They did change
it a long while ago. But it still needs lots of work, in my opinion
anyway. But thats why I use a real news server and a ng client.

I like google groups, and though I could probably get Pan working with
my Bellsouth account, I like the convenience of GG better.

At any rate, you can access them through the old interface:
groups.google.com, or the new beta interface: groups-beta.com.

I'm posting this using the beta interface for the first time. Didn't
know it existed till today. If it's anything like Gmail, I'll likely
prefer it to "traditional" ways of mail and usenet access, despite a
    few limitations.

One thing I'd like to learn how to do is post to Usenet/Google Groups
using my Gmail account and then giving the message a time out--as some
stuff really doesn't need to float in the ether for eternity.

Interesting point. I don't use goggle to post to groups, but it does
make sense that some / many people probably would like to have the
option of their posts deleted after a certain time. I use thunderbird
and can change the archive setting, but it's not easy to do, so I really
can't change it /on the fly/ like I would like to.

You must be talking about Google Groups *Beta*

I actually kind of like it since it automatically views them by tree.

Man, I don't see any change. Are you running the beta?

Yes, I was. I have eliminated the -beta from the URL, and it's back to
    good again.

    Thanks for the advice.

Here is the reply which I received from Google. Apparently the latest
version of the beta is causing the problem of message cutoff.

Thank you for your note. It's currently not possible to modify the new
frame. We're also currently investigating problems similar to yours that
other users are reporting with the frame cutting off messages. In the
meantime, you may want to consider increasing your screen's resolution
and/or ensuring your window is fully expanded.

We appreciate your taking the time to send us your feedback. We'll

    keep it
