Welcome aboard and good luck.
Quoted message said:It's hard to figure a few things out. I just read that activity points don't start for 4 weeks.
The introduction of the activity points at meetings does not happen until the 4th week. This only
means that they delay telling you how to calculate the points until then. You should be thinking
about adding exercise to your program from day 1. From my "Getting Started" book: "Winning points
begins with the POINTS food system. In a few weeks you'll be ready to learn the POINTS Activity
System and have the option of earning additional food POINTS through exercise. Until then, work
toward adding 20 minutes of activiy into your day (if you're already doing more than that, keep up
the good work!). Don't forget to jot down the number of activity minutes in your journal."
Quoted message said:What are the differences for the 1st couple of weeks. I know there were "quick-start"
weeks before.
The "quick start" program is brand new. They give you menus for 20points per day as a way of
getting started.
Quoted message said:Besides points,, what are the key things?
Eating healthy, journaling, drinking water, and from the "Getting started book":
1) pay attention of serving sizes (look at nutrution info for recommended serving size when you are
calculating points),
2) choose at least 5 servings of fruits and vegtables a day,
3) choose at least 2 servings of milk and milk products a day,
4) include protein-rich foods in your diet,
5) choose a variety of grains daily, especially whole grains
6) limit alcohol, high-sugar and high-fat foods.
7) drink at least 6 glasses of water every day
8) insure your nutritional well-being by taking a multiple vitamin-mineral supplement every day.

being
Quoted message said:talked about. What would be considered good??
They recommend 6 glasses but anything over that can only help you. I've seen recommendations as high
as 1/2 ounce per pound or was that 8 glasses plus an additional 1/2 ounce per pound. What ever you
can manage is good especially if you have not been drinking a lot of water before joining WW. I
carry a sports bottle of water most of the day unless I know that I am not going to be near a
bathroom for an extended period of time <g>.

Good luck.
