Seems like an awesome idea, I thought it might work if you attached the sensor to the bottom of the pedal. Just a great way to monitor things and have them spoken to you as you bike.
Any thoughts?

Cool!
I heard about this but what exactly does it tell you? Would you really wanna listen to your iPod talking to you for 2+ hours.
I'll probably get it for running. I like to know how far/how fast I've run. Seems like a handy thing to have...
It comes inbetween songs telling where you are at according to the goal you set as far as time and distance. Then when you get home you can plug it into your computer and it will automatically upload your data from the trip. From there you can look at your workout for a yearly, monthly, and weekly perspective on calories burned, total distance, speed, and what not to see your results. Its only like an extra $30 bucks if you already have an ipod.
Funny how no one has mentioned the dangers of running or biking with headphones (even at low volume). Had I worn headphones while running or biking over the years, I would have been hit by at least a dozen cars that I didn't see (but I heard), never found some lost kids yelling for help, or truly enjoyed the tranquility of nature. Then again, I have a broken wrist right now because of a runner who had her volume so high she couldn't hear me when she stepped in my path...🙂
Yeah it is really dangerous. My sister and her fiance (both runners) listen to music while running. I'd never listen to music while riding (even though music would help on some of the longer rides).

I don't mean to point fingers at you or jack the original posters thread but I have to disagree with this statement. Everytime I go out for a ride with or without a player in my ear I can barely here a thing. The wind where I live seems this year to be exceptional. 97% of the time I don't hear the vehicle until they show up in my peripheral vision. The other 3% are the days that aren't that windy and I can maybe hear something coming from behind...So, for me I don't see the difference unless the day is wind free. This is just my personal opinion... 😎
Anyone know if this works without the "special" Nike+ shoes? As far as I can tell, the only thing special about the shoes is the little pocket in the footbed for the sensor. Couldn't you just tie it to your laces or create an "anklet" for it or something?
