I need to replace the 12W/12V MR11 bulb in my old Niterider. Has
anyone located a suitable aftermarket bulb from another
manufacturer. I would like to not spend the $20-25 asked for a
factory replacement, but then I do not want something that is dim
and useless, either. -- Jay Beattie.

thousands of miles on a set I used for six or seven years, rebuilt the
battery packs and kept on using them until the second batch of
batteries died. Never had a lamp burn out.The replacement lights I got from another vendor both blew the low
beam lamps within about a year of much less frequent riding. All in all, I suspect $20 is probably a bargain.

This is a 12V, 12W. narrow spot beam (9.5 degrees (FTA)). Do you need a
lamp with or without the cover glass? This one doesn't have the cover
glass, so your light would have to have it.Also see:
which is 10W/12V narrow flood (17 degree beam), with a cover glass).See http://nordicgroup.us/s78/headlights.html for the codes for the
different beam spreads.
