  1. I need to replace the 12W/12V MR11 bulb in my old Niterider. Has
anyone located a suitable aftermarket bulb from another
manufacturer. I would like to not spend the $20-25 asked for a
factory replacement, but then I do not want something that is dim
and useless, either. -- Jay Beattie.

Go find the thread below. It listed several other places to order the
Halogen bulbs used in the NiteRider system.

FWIW, those NiteRider bulbs are really, REALLY good bulbs. I put many
thousands of miles on a set I used for six or seven years, rebuilt the
battery packs and kept on using them until the second batch of
batteries died. Never had a lamp burn out.

The replacement lights I got from another vendor both blew the low
beam lamps within about a year of much less frequent riding.

All in all, I suspect $20 is probably a bargain.

    Look at:
This is a 12V, 12W. narrow spot beam (9.5 degrees (FTA)). Do you need a
lamp with or without the cover glass? This one doesn't have the cover
glass, so your light would have to have it.

    Also see:
which is 10W/12V narrow flood (17 degree beam), with a cover glass).

See http://nordicgroup.us/s78/headlights.html for the codes for the
    different beam spreads.
