  1. Got this problem with my bike and I can only hear it in certain gears.
Hear the sound with pedal movements on downward stroke of right leg.
I only notice it in 3 gears and they are the 3 hardest gear settings. I commonly use one of those gears for cruising speed levels.

Can only describe the sound as like a cranking sound only on downward stroke of right leg.

  2. is your chain rubbing on your front deraileur?

  3. bingo!
just hoisted up my bike & observed that
now to adjust that front deraileur..

  4. great...
My high screw ain't do anything 🙁
got low screw nicely adjusted, but high screw screws, but no movement noticed in front derailleur

Cable tension too slack? If so, an you've been playing with the H-screw much then you need to be careful that the chain won't shift off to the outside of the large chainring (can ruin your day); if you adjust the cable tension.

    Take a look at:
    parktool.comhowfix frontderailleur.shtml

  6. yup, now cable too tight
what best way to figure out right cable tension?
