Non Shimano

The only thing to remember about Sram Halfpipe shifter is that shifting is in reverse.

SRAM is funny like that..I had an SRAM 7.0 that was a 2001 model that shifted in one direction. The
next year I bought a bike with a 2002 SRAM 7.0 that shifted directly the opposite. Still gives me
trouble at times.

I recently dumped xt from my red bike and got a new SRAM rear derr to go

with my grip shifts. Very nice combo. No matter what, (up, down, doesn't

matter) I'm on the cog within less than half a crank rotation. Something

my xt rear derrs. never seemed to manage. The only shimano left on that

bike is the front xt derr, which happens to suck a bit, too.

paladin life outside Shimano is, well, OK.

Only thing Shimano on the SS is the BMX 18t free wheel...starting to grind....may take the Freak's
advise and go ACS Claw.

Yeah, there sure is. Surly for one. But I don't know how difficult it is to install a rear wheel
without having dropouts. I've been considering becoming interested in possibly buying a single speed
but I must have disc brakes because I can't go back to rim brakes now...

Yes, redid my mtbike last summer with SRAM 9.0 components. I like it much better than the
Rapidfire. Only thing was it took some time to get the derailleur dialed in perfect. But since I
have never had to readjust it. So now if I buy a new bike it has to have SRAM. That is very
limiting since most seem to have Shimano. So if/when I replace, will probably just buy the frame I
want and build with SRAM.

Just when I was gonna thump my chest and brag that my SS was Shimano free, I remembered my xt hub on
front. I have the ACS Claw, and it's been totally trouble free for 4yrs of fairly constant use.
