Normal & Bar-end shifters: mutually exclusive?

Actually, no. Profile Designs (www.profile-design.com) makes a product called the Universal STI Adapter. Here is the descriptions:

"Mounts on the downtube and dovetails two shifter cables into one so STI shift levers can be used at the same time as the UPS"

CAVEAT: I have never used it. Never installed it. Have no idea how well it works, or if it really works at all.

Ive only seen the adapter on one bike.. and a month later it was history... looks "Messed up" sell the PS or the sti shifters and get some aerobrake levers. If you ride primary in the aero position.. PS all the way (tri bikes or TT) if you use the bike for commuting sell the PS and stay with the sti... I dont like the sti shifters cuz the really dont like accidents...(become trashed)

They arent junk... they are better than the dura ace sti shifters... my left DA shifter is messed up cuz the wind knocked my bike to the ground... you'de think $300 shifters wouldnt be that fragile.. specially taking into consideration that "Spills" should have been taken into account when they were designed.. If you were to consider either shifter junk... make a decision after you read this.
