I have added a humour page, direct link
http://members.lycos.co.uk/fiultra/BICYCLE%20HUMOUR.html
I'm afraid it is not for the mouthfoamers, the fulminators, the
whiners, the hard men, the lefties, the environmentalists, the
conservatives, the contrarians, the morons, the owners of Brooks
saddles, riders in the dark, motor pacers, goatshead specialists, and
suchlike; for them a page of humour about them is a tautological
insult, which is itself a tautology, as the ooh-ah bird said when the
diamater of the circle it flew decreased to a black hole. Sorry.
In short: a vanity piece.
You should cultivate your talent for the obvious, Mickey. It is your
best feature. *Of course* all comedy is vanity: it holds up one's own
failings to those less fortunate and says, See here, look in my
mirror: you're a fool and don't know it; on the other hand, I know I
am absurd but self-knowledge makes me superior to you. That's one of
the points the first joke on that page makes.

Vanity is one thing cycling is not short of: too many self-important,
humourless [censored] cycle. Cruise the FAQ. Ask yourself why a
distinguished engineer feels obliged to explain why cyclists shave
their legs... (1)

(1) Far from knocking Jobst -- which will be the first and
characteristic reaction of the usual humourless clowns -- I'm just
having a quiet giggle at his wit. But, if I have to point out that the
entry is surreal, my point is doubly made.
