I can't cycle particularly fast on my Rans Rocket, but this past weekend, I had to assist the Humane Society in capturing a racoon with distemper that was a kilometer and one half down a bike path.
I was able to cycle in with a capture stick and a cage in the back webbing of my recumbent's seat and cycle out the same way with the poor unfortunate raccoon in the cage in the back. On a racing bike without racks, it couldnt have been done at all - with racks the raccoon would have been too close for comfort still.
And you thought that recumbents were just for racing.

I understand that the RANS Rocket is a much faster bike than the Rans Rocket is.
