And again. Have you actually signed up for anything? I've got my first
300 coming up in a few weeks, and my first 400 not long after that.
Still haven't signed up to a 600 yet - we'll see how the 400 goes

Strange to think what has happened since I was first on Usenet.. It would
bave been the early 90's. My first helmet post would have been on
rec.cycling (prior to being split int subgroups) in 1996 or therabouts.

Anyway, this last year:

1. Done my first 100km+ ride (Dundee-Glasgow)
2. Done my first 100 mile+ ride (Dundee-Edinburgh-Dundee)
3. Ridden a tandem for the first time.
3a. Had to build it first..
4. Ridden a tricycle for the first time since age 7 (cheers the.Mark)
5. Ridden a time trial for the first time in 14 years.

All in all, a productive year

So this year:

1. 200km audax
2. PB for a ten?
3. build another bike.

Don't dig it out, turn it into a garden feature. Hang bags of
peanuts on it to attract the bluetits.

The Invicta (Chiddingstone Causeway), second weekend in June. (Sounds
like a long time off but I can't believe it's March already...)

I've so far got rides lined up for every weekend in June (177 on the
4th, 400 on the 11th/12th and 200 on the 25th), except for the weekend
of my brother's wedding, and since that will be in the Lake District
I'm rather hoping to take my bike up and get a ride in that weekend,
too. I'm also hoping to do Battle & Back (200km, 1.25AAA), which is the
first weekend in July. By the end of that lot, I'll be either extremely
fit or dead...

the Invicta was my first 400, a great ride (apart from getting chased
down lanes by Fatboy Slim fans desperate to get to Brighton on the
night of that gig). Riding into the dawn as we crossed from Hampshire
into West Sussex, amazing. Low point was sitting outside a petrol
station by Tesco in Winchester at 0300.

might do Battle and Back, but the sporting not grimpeur, once a year up
Yorkshill is enough.

This got me thinking. So I have just done a check on myself and found
out that its been NINE YEARS since my first post. Dear God it doesnt
seem like that long.

My first post to uk.rec.cycling seems to predate the google archive
(or dejanews, as it was). However, I think it was only by a few
months - so I'm at about 10 years here now.
