OT: Creating Ring Tones

Do cell phones have any potential for polyphony?

LGs use polymorphic ring tones. My phone has a ring tone that sounds
exactly like a real (non-electronic) phone ringing. I am not into ring
tones so the ringing phone or vibrate are the only 2 notification modes
I use.

On the LGs there is a tool you can use to directly manipulate the
phones' file system so you can move stuff off or on the phone.

Mine does. :-)

I just made a couple more. That website seems to work better with IE
than with firefox.

Feel free. It's fun! Plus, any ringtone I CREATE can be e-mailed to any
other phones or computers.

Motorola C261.

Tracfone.

I got the phone, 1 year of service and 410 minutes for $130.00 to start
and I enrolled in "double minutes for life" which is good as long as I
don't let the phone expire.

They have additional promos all the time and each card extends the
service by 90 days.

The last 2 $20.00 cards I bought gave me 210 minutes each and extended
the service.

The internet browser simply costs you minutes of air time and after
e-mailing my G-mail address from the phone, I got the e-mail address of
the phone itself which is it's phone number@(server) and stored it.

I've been e-mailing it the midi-files and saving the e-mail content and
it shunts it into the sounds folder where it can then be used as a
ringtone.

The phone has limited memory which is why I reduce the midi-files to a
30 second clip.

I spent a few hours doing that instead of posting on usenet, but I
still got weeding, housecleaning and cooking done too! I uploaded 13
cool ringtones to the phone, including Axel-F and Baby Elephant Walk.

Lynn is hurting for cash again so I'm not having to do laundry.
It's kinda cool to pay someone else to do that chore... I hate doing
laundry!

Yep, TFM® has been doing that for about 6 months. He's always creating
ringtones. It kind of drives me nuts. LOL.
