I didn't figure it was original with me, even though I'd
never seen in anywhere else before. I'm just a lover of
acronyms for the 'net, and Love Of My Life is how I refer to
him all the time, so it was a natural derivation for me.

I've actually never seen LOML anywhere else before. But it's
nice to know you feel that way about your DH (the more
common usage I've seen) too.

I wouldn't trade my SU (spousal unit) for all the tea in
china.

Folks? Plural?

Folks, plural, seems to be a southern thing, I think. To me,
especially, seeing Folk as singular (even though
grammatically correct) is a tad jarring. Folks is more
common around here. For example, "I'm going to My Folks'
house for dinner" means you are eating with your parents.
"You folks come on over for some beans and cornbread" means
"All y'all are expected for supper." 🙂

Secondly, no, I never make tabbouli since my dad moved to my
county. He makes it so often that my 4 year old thinks

Thirdly, Jill McQ complained so often about the tabbouli
title and attendant threads that I thought I'd give her a
break for a decade or two. OK, she's not the only one who
sneered at the title. I'm not naming the others.

I'm picking on Jill because she shares my birthday (I
share hers?) and therefore she is entitled to comment on
my nickname. Also it's an RFC tradition to be mean to
each other and I had to get in a dig. Better poke at Jill
than at some of the real trolls who lurk beneath the RFC
rocks. She's got a sense of humor, at least. I can't wait
to see what she'll say when Tabbouli pops up in a subject

my county. He makes it so often that my 4 year old thinks
that's what you eat at Jiddi's house (Jiddi = my grandpa
in Arabic). He makes it for all my parties, too, so I have
gotten out of the habit completely.

Sounds as if Jiddi has the realm of tabbouli all to himself
these days. Is your mother still the spoonbread queen?

OB food (as opposed to royal titles): Tonight I made a
Vietnamese noodle bowl with shrimp and lemongrass. Nothing
unusual, except that the cilantro, mint and basil all came
from my humble little front yard garden. The mint is going
berserk, the cilantro is commencing to bolt in the Seattle
heat (but I'll plant more after the 4th), and the Italian
basil has an edge over the Thai basil at this point.
