of spare waist strap?

On inspection one of the two adjusting screws was jammed, but ten
minutes with WD40, pliers, mole wrench, and spanners fixed it. It was
too heavy to take back.

Sorry to be negative, but, I believe you get what you pay for, unless
you're very lucky. And my Aldi roses are doing just fine in the
dreadful soil in my garden !

I have all kinds of ALDI/LiDL stuff (including this PC, the most stable
one I've ever had)!
The modem was goosed after a thunderstorm. I called them and in a
couple of days or so a guy came and swapped it out under the three year
guarantee.

The DVD recorder with hard drive has functioned well for several years.
Another DVD +RW recorder failed after 12 months and they sent a
refurbished replacement within a few days, courier delivered at 8am.
That one also failed after another 12 months. Again, a replacement
after a couple of days notice under guarantee.

The gear is cheap and cheerful, and most of it is ok, in my experience,
though the DVD recorders are a bit eccentric in control functions.

If you want something better quality with a three years no quibble
guarantee it costs an arm and a leg, and most electronic stuff is
obsolete by the time an ALDI guarantee runs out. ;-)

I still have the headtorch from several years ago, it is a bit flimsy
and only 3 LEDs, but my netto one is fine, and has more LEDs so I
prefer it. My Lidl socks from a few years ago are excellent, this
years socks at Lidl are not quite up to the same standard as the Aldi
ones, but still look pretty good for lightweight summer wear. ( sold
as "running socks" - the "treking" ones in aldi were not that good).
If I did not have a good selection of ricksacks already I would be
tempted by the ones currently in Lidl. - Am currently wearing an Aldi
"baselayer" as a tshirt, they are great for warmer weather, Other than
the clumsy wrist fasteners I am very happy with my Aldi "Softshell"
bought a few weeks ago. and I have an Aldi "Ski Jacket" no longer
waterproof after about 4 years of continual winter wear, for £25 it
has been a bargain hacking jacket for colder days.
I wear my Aldi microfleece, sold a few years ago as a "running top" a
huge amount, it is much longer than most fleece tops, and has dinky
thumb holes for when I cant be bothered to put on gloves, but my hands
are a bit cold.

Just my experience of coures, others may differ.

Having said all that, the fabric boots I bought are going back on
Monday! I didn't notice at the time that the boots for myself had
lace loops at the top which are just sewn in on tags, and the first time
I tried the boots on, one of the tags pulled off with hardly any
tension. :-(

OTOH, the boots I bought for my lady friend have decent hooks like a
conventional walking boot.

Just been into Netto, which had a couple of softshells, these were not
advertised as far as I could see - looked OK, water resistant zips but
not the same feel of quality of the Aldi ones a few years ago. Plenty
of walking poles left in Aldi, I think most people who want one have
one by now, Coming soon in Aldi, Wind up torches, more of the not
fantastic head torches and a low level dome tent that might have its
uses, The thing that interested me were some polycarbonate jars, look
like Nalgene clones, so again could have their uses.
