I'm in severe danger of losing my left wing credentials now. Tube strikes do not hurt the employer they just annoy the users who in turn decide that they donpt want to use public transport as it's so unreliable.

ISTR that a strike by public transport employees in Sydney got ful backing of the public as everyone turned up to work as normal, but refused to accept any fares. Although the tube was to be free from 23:45, this would still have caused the tube opperators a headache.

<Irony>Good luck to the RMT in their attempt to get a working week of 35 hours insittsagted, I just wish ANY of teh jobs I had had that few numbers of required hours, along with a pay rise</irony>

Hopefully lik the last few tube strikes, this will just turn out to be posturing on behalf of the RMT, and we can all go and have a great new years eve. After all if it goes ahead, the bars in the west end won't be very happy either :-)
