Well, I had an unplanned dismount this morning, doing some trail riding,
other then a sore neck and a big scrape on my noggin, and feeling sore
all over at this point, I think everything is okay. I did a nice first
class face plant. Considering that they are generally forecasting rain
or snow all week, and the pre-christmas rush is occuring everywhere, I
think the season is done at this point. The bike needs the bars
re-aligned, and the front wheel trued up, and a general check up. I
think I will need a new visor for the helmet, the old one broke when it
came off.
So what happened, well you see it was muddy, and going down a bit of a
hill, the back wheel slid out, and down I went. After running through
my entire collection of expletives, which I don't use much any more, I
sat up, then after running through a check of everything, got up, back
onto the bike, and rode on, back to the trail-head.
Since the season around here is pretty much ended, I will likely take
the bike to the shop some time over the winter to give them time to
check everything, and do a couple of things I would like done (wheels
trued, bars readjusted, bottom bracket lubed, new brake pads, etc).
