Why does the idea of cornstarch as part of the breading for the onion bother you? Cornstarch does
some very nice things to the batter when it's fried on things.

The actions taken by the New Hampshire Episcopalians are an affront to
Christians everywhere. I am just thankful that the church's founder, Henry
VIII, and his wife Catherine of Aragon, his wife Anne Boleyn, his wife Jane
Seymour, his wife Anne of Cleves, his wife Catherine Howard and his wife
Catherine Parr are no longer here to suffer through this assault on our
    "traditional Christian marriage."

I'm not making any editorial comments on the recipe as I've never done it. I was just giving Mike a
    source to answer his question.

Thats part of the ingredients for the blooming onion itself, not the dip. I thought the same thing
at first until I read the rest of the recipe.
