I liked the old Marin RockStar forks, quite bendy in the vertical plane, less buzzy than P2s or
probably those Paces for that matter. My old Tequesta had some after the original forks went all
low-rider on me one day. I got some funny looks riding it home.....

I thought the RC31's were supposed to be pretty absorbent due to the carbon fibre.

I considered a set of these for my SS but went with bombers in the end!

Absorbant yes, they are supposed to soak up trail vibrations better than a normal cro-mo fork.
However I am a little bit nervous about the carbon fibre failing without warning, at least with
cro-mo there might be some signs i.e. paint flaking off etc.

I think you probably are, but no doubt it will always be troubling you at the back of your mind.
Not a good idea to have something on there that you don't have full trust in because it will hinder
your riding.

Ah the Ti "on-ones" - To be honest I think I am looking more at the steel versions. Forks bend and
I'd rather bend a steel one than a Ti one.. and not that bothered about the weight.

Heh - that's what killed my steel fully rigid SS - cheapo steel forks didn't much like that 2+ foot
stair drop to flat and folded nicely.

I'm trying to knock together a commuter / hack SS. I've got a load of bits together, but I'm lacking
a frame, forks and wheels. Every time I get enough cash together, I get hit by a big outlay. Last
month's was a grand in fines and tax at Zurich airport. [censored].

Smuggling 🙂 I screwed up, basically. I had to install some expensive stuff in our Swiss office, and
didn't fill out an import declaration when I took all the stuff down there. I'm so used to doing
this sort of stuff in the EU that it hadn't crossed my mind. Got caught walking through the green
channel with thousands-worth in equipment and customs were none too impressed. Orignal tax amount,
then doubled for no declaration and then a comparable amount in fines.

About 2000 CHF all in (~1000 GBP). I've managed to reclaim some of it from the $company, but they're
not best pleased about forking out for something that was my mistake. Lives and learns, eh?
