  1. Interesting. I've been paying $4.95 for 8 ounces of Sushi Chef panko,
in a box. I could only find it in one "gourmet" store.

Today, I bought two 6-ounce bags of Japanese panko from the new Safeway
for $1.29 each. Probably less if I had an Asian market within reach.

I can get my panko on sale sometimes for 2/$1 at my local Asian store.
Otherwise, yeah, it's generally about $1.00 a package.

In Superstore is where I get panko, 89 cents for 6 ounces.

Real Canadian Superstore a Canadian mostly supermarket is it's more
    proper name..

I have never seen panko at superstore - whereabouts did you find it?

I shop there all the time.

In the Asian aisle in cellophane bagettes...Not the Mexican Aisle. In the
superstore where I shop the bag has lots of yellow on it. In the same Aisle
that carries the papadums (but calls them papad on the English insert) near
    the large canned hosin sauce.

Thanks I'll look today. Sounds like a much better deal than Longos where I
    paid over $3.
