I was wondering if i could use a household item like ductape to repair my flat before i get to the bike shop. I got 700 x 25C tires that are pumped up at 120 psi. So I'm wondering if theres an easy repair method for flat tubes that will last at least a day before i can get to the bike shop on tuesday since its closed because its labor day. Thanks 🙂.

Nope. Sorry, but you're screwed 'till Tuesday. Always carry a spare tube and puncture repair kit. Always. -

Not much will hold at 120psi, but ductape might work at about half that, just to ride to the bike shop. Try it and let us know.

Wow a 1" x 1" piece of ductape held up 5 miles at 100 psi. I wasnt able to go far since its getting dark out but it seems to be holding up nicely until i get to the lbs. Hopefully it will hold into tommorow 😉.

From now on I will include ductape in by bicycle repair kit.

As long as the tube was cleaned well before you put it on, duct tape should hold pretty much forever. The tube itself doesn't contain any of the pressure. Once you pump it up, the tape gets pressed between the tube and the tire, which keeps it sealed on. Much like any other glueless patch, the only time it might not work is if the puncture is right next to a seam. -
Get yourself a few spare tubes and carry one of those too.
5 for £10 is about the going rate in the UK - for instance here
When I am patching them now (when I have about a dozen to do at once) I start to wonder about whether its worth it?
