endroll said:Hi there!
I am a wee little bit new to this city (kind of). I wonder if anybody
would have a good way of riding from Claremont/Mosman Park area to
Morley. I drive it easily enough by car, but was thinking of riding to
work one Saturday morning (and returning early afternoon).
Any ideas? I've tried to make sense of the bike maps (online - dept of
infrastructure or something) but just can't work out a reasonable
route.
If you aren't scared of the roads and prefer a direct route, I would
just go straight up Stirling Highway, Cross over onto the cycle, sorry
Principal Shared Path at the lights just after the University, ride
along Mounts Bay Road on the path all the way to Barrack Street and
straight up Barrack Street which becomes Beaufort St then Broun Avenue
into the bottom end of Morley. This would be my choice because I like
fast and direct.
Alternatively, there are paths/designated routes along Railway Parade in
the back of Claremont, maybe follow Railway Pde all the way into the
city until you get past Beaufort St, turn left into Stirling St and
follow until you see the signs for the NE26 cycle route then gee, pick a
blue line on the map... http://www.dpi.wa.gov.au/cycling/pbn/stirling.pdf
The reason you can't work out a reasonable route is because there isn't
one. I would say that the NE8 would be your best bet. Maybe try it
first and if you don't like it, try a different one.
Happy commuting
