Clitheroe seems the nearest sort of place with anything camping /
caravanning like. Perhaps have a look through

I've got the 2004 AA Bed & Breakfast guide - let me know if you want
me to list a few in that area.

Not really a properly sensible suggestion, but there is the YHA Camping
Barn at Chipping (sleeps 15 on the first floor !) . It looks a mere 9
or 10 miles from Brockhall via a scenic route up a two chevron hill to
the top of Longridge Fell , up another chevron to the Roman road down
to Ribchester , across Ribchester bridge and then along the other Roman
road to Brockhall........

I'm sure Nathan would be up for it !

Please note I have no proper knowledge of the area (apart from fond
memories of hot pies from the baker in Clitheroe 45 years ago.)

Whalley which is an easy cycle ride (2 miles) away has a few B&B's pubs
etc. I believe that you can also stay in the Abbey there for around £20
a night . The Abbey's No is 01254 828400. You could also give the
tourist info a ring in Clitheroe on 01200 425566 They should be able to
put you in touch with the B&B's in Whalley, Langho, Billington etc so
you can enquire. I cycle quite regularly around there and can remember
when Brochall was still open as a hospital (see below) Now its a fairly
swish place which contains Blackburn Rovers training ground.

Brockhall Hospital (See Lancashire Asylums Board) was approximately two
miles from Calderstones Hospital in the Ribble Valley. It opened as The
Lancashire Inebriate Reformatory in 1904. It became Brockhall Hospital
for Mental Defectives in 1915, Brockhall Hospital for the Mentally
Subnormal in 1959, and Brockhall Hospital for Mentally Handicapped
People in 1974. In 1971 it had an average of 1,844 beds available and
1,800 resident patients. Steve Wright worked there as a nurse from 1981
until 1985. During that time there where still children at Brockhall and
approximately 1000 people lived there in total. It became Brockhall
Hospital for People with Learning Disabilities in 1991, but closed in 1992.
