No problem. :-) I haven't uploaded anything to my website yet. I suppose I should. I'm still
regrouping. Had to take a friend to the doc yesterday in OUR snowfall. Something about our biggest
December snowfall in 20 years.

Someone contributed 2 (count them, two!) photos for one of my web sites. 5.4Mb of 2 pics of peoples'
backs!! Took me 22 minutes to d'load the msg.

What is it you say? Lissenup? All you fancy-schmancy broadband people with whoop-de-do zillion-pixel
cameras, take a minute to crop and see if you don't have a photo app with a 'resize' feature. For
making photo prints or for offline publication, the more detail, the better. For display on web
sites, pics of 5,000 to 40,000 bytes is good. Many photo apps will let you choose the degree of JPEG
compression, and you can compress to a fare-thee-well while retaining a nice image. (Watch out for
red areas.)

I did re-size & crop...that is why Barb only got a MB's worth for 4 photos. I do have to admit,
though, I took three photos & turned them into a panoramic view of the whole room...it did have a
drawback, though, in that it looks as if Rodney M. only has half a right hand...otherwise it was a
nifty playtime photo.

My msg wasn't meant to be any particular criticism. If you went to the trouble to panoramize, I'm
sure it's worth it (maybe not to Rodney
:-). And 1Mb isn't too bad, really. A few of my correspondents whom I
don't feel at liberty to criticize except at long intervals, keep sending giant files in un-
translatable formats of not-anything-much. It turns out the "5.4Mb of people's backs" sender was "in
a hurry" and actually sent some quite decent and interesting (and smaller) pics later. Just don't
send me a 2Mb enclosure in .mix format of a hole your dog dug in the back yard. No, I'm not kidding.
