In brief, I've tapped all the holes clear, polished and refitted the
headset and bottom bracket.

(Boiling grerby components in water with a dash of washing up liquid,
then rinsing seems to do a good job)

Not yet photographed are clean brakes now fitted, new (oldish)
mudguards fitted. Must remember to blag a long allen key from work to
tighten the handlebars.

Seem to have an unused brake adjuster hole on the frame. And have yet
to puzzle how to fit the front mech post.

Update: I've found a few photos on my PC, so I've sorted the front
mech attachment. In fact I've sorted all the attachments of all the
bits. Last night I was polishing the wheels in the front room whilst
watching The Maltese Falcon. A small embugerance occurred when I
realised the "spare" cable adjusted I'd fitted to the rear mech should
have gone in the front mech bracket. Apart from that, no real
problems.

The finished article forms part of the set I posted before:

No rack on it yet, nor lights.

Rode it down to the Crawley Crit this afternoon, which caused a small
amount of bemusement.
