When you joined weight watchers, did your body go through any digestion situations? I have been on WW now since end of February. I seem to have more abdominal problems and am wondering if it is just the change of foods, my system cleaning out or what.
I did go get some enzyme pills and will see if that helps. It is called Zypan. Has anyone else had experience with these and/or any of what I mentioned.
Are you eating sugar free foods that are designed for diabetics? If you are they are made with Sorbitol and can cause very bad gas and intestinal distress. So watch your intake of products with Sorbitol listed as an ingredient.

Thanks for your comments.
also, diet products with phenylaneline (sp?) can have a laxative effect. i am fine with them, but my son has real problems when i have them (i am breastfeeding). it took ages for me to realise that it was the diet stuff (and we have warnings on the labels here). i thought he had gastro. -- elizabeth (in australia) 87.3kg (193 lb) / 69.4kg (153 lb) / 63kg (139 lb)
In addition the Olestra in WOW brand chips give people "intestinal distress". read: gas, cramping and other unpleasantries.

It's not the phenylalanine (that's just an amino acid - a building block for protein), nor is it the Nutrasweet/aspartame (same thing - artificial sweetener, and the thing that causes the phenylalanine to be present in the products) that causes the gastro troubles. It's the fillers that are used in the products. Look for "maltodextrin" on the labels. Diet Coke (contains Nutrasweet but no maltodextrin) should not give you the problems, but diet lollies (chewing gum included) probably will.

I used to eat pepsid like candy, haven't had one in over six months, I figure I have saved enough in stomach remedies to almost pay for the meetings. Lee Plup <[email hidden]> wrote in message "]news:[email hidden]...

==> No stomach problems here, but almost no weight loss ==> either. Only a few ounces a month.
