  1. Just saw tonight's two installments on Food Network.

In the recent one, she's puffy, shiny, overlit, bombastic, sloppy, and
    annoying.

In the 2003 one, she was thin, subdued, precise, sensible, and
    downright sexy.

Fame has really gone to her head and nobody's governing her, least of
    all herself.

Yeah, she's oinked right off the radar and her staff is asleep at the
wheel. Someone needs to shoot off a flare.

That also sounds like a description of Emeril.

So was Julia Child in 1953. Well now maybe I've gone too far. ;-)

I have to agree. She seems to be burning out. It's time for a change.

I was saw her magazine, and her nose looks like it's taking that
alcoholic/drug-addict sheen to it. Pock marks are next.

Seriously, it looks like somebody put a fake nose her on her
    current issue.

I had the foodnetwork most of the day yesterday and I glanced at her program
and her face was all puffy looking, but most of all her face was red -- not
just the cheeks; I had to wonder if she had been in the sun, but at second
glance, I don't think it was a sunburn. Such a cute and sweet girl to start
acting so squirrely at so young an age. Do I detect a cry for help? Naw!

    That's sarcasm, right? Just checking.
Besides, I saw today's eps, and she didn't look bloated on the newer
one at all. She was showing too much cleavage for my taste, but
otherwise, she didn't seem much different. In the recent one she looked
just fine. I'd wager she's a good 50 pounds lighter than any of us on
rfc but I'm sure since she's a minor celeb, she should be held to a
higher standard than you or I.

I think you'd lose. I don't know how tall she is, but 50 pounds less
than me is 115 pounds. I don't think so. She wouldn't have any
cleavage at all at that weight!

    PS: I'm 6'2"

Uh, no. Many moons ago I was 115 lbs, at 5'0", and I had plenty of
cleavage. A few months ago I read a journal of someone who met Ray at a
book signing and they said she was probably 5'2", so I'm sure she can
have cleavage. And I can attest to the fact that if you're short, a few
extra pounds can look like a lot more than it really is.

There was an article about her in one of the Portland underground
newspapers - she was supposed to meet some people for dinner and ended
up filming some scene for her new show. They pretty muich said she was
late, rude and the girl apparently *really* likes her wine. When she
gets liquored up, she gets "talkative" and baudy (aka loud and
    obnoxious). She also apprently smokes.

"Talkative" when she gets liquored up . . .you gotta be kidding! She's
    24/7 when sober.

Couple of years ago I used to try her TV recipes and they weren't bad.
But I bought one of her books, Thirty Minutes Meals 2, I believe, and
haven't tried one. They look inviting, but something's not right,
there's a weenie ingredient in each one. Reminds me of Emeril's recipes
where he's making a meat loaf with familiar ingredients until he calls
    for Burmese sawgrass.

Hey, Dan, you cut a good figure.

You'd lose in my case, too.
Not obese, but way rounded, about 13# over what I'd really like to weigh.

Wasn't there a marriage in there somewhere? Maybe she is pregnant or
    taking fertility drugs....
Anyway, I haven't like the recipes I have seen and have never seen her,
but by the standards expressed here, Julia Child would have had to stay
    home.

I still can't decide if it's sad: she's obviously overworked, what
with those nineteen series on the Food Network. And then an alleged
talk show coming up on real TV.

I guess in terms of *interest* (it seems rude to me to slam somebody's
looks) everybody peaks. Emeril sure did. It shouldn't come as a
    surprise that Rachael has also.

I think she shows mileage vs. age-peaking. She should take better care of
herself; evidently she knows how to do that. She's got the world, why abuse
it -- which is what it looks like to me, too much high living. I know of
which I speak -- tee hee.

My boys are in love with Rachel Ray and they prefer her more recent,
ultra-hyper incarnation. They are fifteen months old, so make of that
    what you will.

I saw her on the most recent Next Food Network Star show, she
really seemed normal and not so ... well, hyper. Nice change.

Nan Dupree was the best. She would have a glass of wine an just take off.
    I loved her 😉

Nathalee? I liked her. Was wondering about her just the other
day. Something Sue said reminded me of her, she always measured
her ingredients onto wax paper or something then she'd just toss it.
Bugged me. Otherwise I like her, would like to see her again.
