  1. I wasn't able to *officially* weigh yesterday, so hit the scale this morning instead and had much
better results than I anticipated ... considering the week I'd had eating anything that wasn't
nailed down. Up 1 pound to 130.5. This is also after going out to one of those asian type places for
dinner last nite, that cooks the meal in front of a group of people (similar to benihana's). Great
meal, but I have absolutely no idea how to figure points, so I just gave it my entire days balance
of points. <G> Broth soup, salad/ginger dressing, shrimp, chicken, veggies and a little bit of fried
rice. I purposely saved the rice for the end, found myself not hungry and everyone at the table was
already finished ... so ate maybe 1/3 of a cup. Either way, accurate or not, I am happy with the
    results ... maintaining again.

I had an SV <scale victory> Friday morning. Couldn't officially weigh in, had a dr. appointment
first thing in the morning and was too pressed for time to hit the basement. Choice was shower or
basement ... figured the Dr. would appreciate the shower much more. <G> First victory ... this was
the very first time in 20 years that I have allowed the nurses/doctor to weigh me in the office. In
the past it always has been my refusal, telling them I knew I was overweight and approximated my
weight at ???? whatever. I relayed this to the nurse as I groaned about getting on the scale. Her
reply was, "well you are just a little bit of a thing, so what are you afraid of?" I laughed and
told her she was obviously new at the office. Onto the scale I went .... drumroll please ........
132.5 fully clothed in jeans and sweatshirt! Definitely under my goal, WITH the clothing allowance -
and probably agrees with the scale this morning adding 2 pounds for those jeans/sweatshirt.
WOOHOO!!! Doc came in, looked charts over, big smile on his face. We discussed my being constantly
cold - he said "we'll run some bloodwork to make sure, but it's more than likely because you've lost
all your insulation ... you've lost what, 70 or 80 pounds?" Now remember, this was because my
previous chart was my guessing at my weight, which I under estimated by about 20 pounds. So I gently
corrected him and told him "damn close to 100 pounds". LOL! Needless to say, he was even more
thrilled. So all I await for now are the bloodwork results, hormonal [censored], thyroid, cholesterol,
    etc. Blood pressure was
100/60 - pulse 70 ... I'm guessing the pulse is lower finally due to the treadmill work (I used to
    rest around 85-90).

Hubby is having fun telling everyone that between the 2 of us we have lost 100 pounds over the past
2 years. What he doesn't tell them is that all but 2 pounds was lost by me. <grin>

  2. Good job maintaining this week. Some of your extra pound may have been from dinner last night. Many
of the asian places use a lot of soy and teriaki sauces that have too much salt in them. Increase
your water today and it should flush out in no time.

  4. Hot diggidy, Joyce. Your visit to the doctor was a day to remember. The fully-clothed WI, the blood
pressure, the resting heart rate... All of it is so wonderful. Good for you.

I look at what you've achieved and tell myself I can do it too. Thanks for the inspiration.

  8. Wow that is what I would call a super-NSV. It is so great to see your doctor proud of you and it is
some kind of reward for a job well done. I hope the being cold will indeed just be an insulation
thing. Although I still have a long way to go I 'm much colder than I used to be.

Good job maintaining this week. Some of your extra pound may have been from dinner last night. Many

  14. Thanks Julie. I was surprised that I gave in and let them weight me - I usually won't. This was a
new nurse and she just wasn't going to take no for an answer. LOL! Maybe because she didn't know me,
I mean .... guess they could understand my hesitance towards jumping on that scale before, but she
sure didn't understand it as I appear now. I'm also hoping those tests come back normal, but part of
me is hoping the hormone part doesn't ... would at least explain a lot of what I'm dealing with
lately. Guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Joyce, congratulation! You've come a long way. I'm impressed that you let the doctor's office weigh
you. I hope that your lab work comes back "normal".

  15. I'm sure the cold is due to the weight loss, doesn't make sense for it to be thyroid or I would
assume I would have had a tougher time losing the weight. Does that make sense? The past few weeks
I've also been going through some odd hot flashes and other wierd non-threatening things. Figured as
long as we were yanking blood out of me for the standard cholesterol stuff - might as well take it
all and get a thorough workup. I will say though, it is much nicer in the summer not having to deal
with being overly hot ... easier (and nicer on the eyes) to put on an extra layer than to try and
    strip them off. <G>

I had an SV <scale victory> Friday morning. Couldn't officially weigh

to make sure, but it's more than likely because you've lost all your

    my

    pounds". LOL!

    Quoted message said:

Needless to say, he was even more thrilled. So all I await for now are

    the

    Quoted message said:

bloodwork results, hormonal [censored], thyroid, cholesterol, etc. Blood

    pressure was

    Quoted message said:

100/60 - pulse 70 ... I'm guessing the pulse is lower finally due to

    the

Thanks Catherine! I'm not called tiny very often, am rather surprised on

    the rare

occassion that it does happen. I swear, I still think they are thinking

    of

    Quoted message said:

someone else. It's just now starting to sink into my brain that my

    appearance

    Quoted message said:

really has changed. Hub has been nagging at me to get my drivers license

    picture

retaken - it is sooooooo different. I haven't done it yet, not even sure

    if I

    Quoted message said:

will. It's a great reminder for me ... to NOT return. <G>
