For when it suddenly stops raining, and being beneath
a rain jacket gets really, really hot & uncomfortable,
and there isn't a convenient spot to stop and pull into.

the rain here in SC is usually warm, short, and modern synthetics dry
out fast enough. Besides, rain cleaned jerseys smell better than sweat
thats been trapped inside a rain jacket!

I always buy mine on clearance, and so I'm stuck typically with the darker
colors that don't sell as well. My current rain jacket is sort of a dull

I love this time of year when I'm carrying sunglasses and rain gear
because it's just cloudy and could go one way or the other.

Full finger gloves, an extra insulating or wind breaking layer and an
ear warmer also get tucked into the pannier if I'm going to be out
after dark.

Changing all that gear on the fly could be the subject for a video
that puts those BMX flat-landers and fixer trixters to shame.

Well, I'm off a Halloween party at the bike shop (their 14th birthday
celebration as well) . . . carrying my costume that I will be
stopping to don. It's the same one I wore two years ago so most of
the mechanics haven't yet seen it. It's a scary costume that
incorporates a back lit saddle as the mask.

A, if I'm going fast enough, and I can even roll it up, reach down,
unzip my front pannier and put it away... that is, if I remember to
loosen the velcro at the base of the sleeve first! hahaha

In real life I think "B" is actually more difficult than "A". And while I
used to do "A" from time to time, I prefer a group stop (there are usually
4-7 of us on my every Tuesday & Thursday-morning no-matter-what ride). One
of our regulars is very good at putting things on & taking them off while
riding, but I've also watched that same person have part of his windbreaker
get sucked into his rear wheel, coming very, very close to causing a serious
crash.

I can do it but I don't recommend it. There are all kinds of ways to
wreck no handed, even without dangling jackets into your wheels.

Getting the jacket off is easy. Stuffing it into a backpack is
tougher.

Try that on a trail.
