I didn't drop down to Chapman's Pool itself. I followed the Coastal path
around to near Renscombe Farm, then inland left on the Purbeck Way. The
path down from Houns-tout Cliff has been stepped ... and some rather long
steps down in places ... and the path from the bottom is well defined. Most
on farm tracks around to the Purbeck Way.

Great walking area though. Clare and I have done a few walks from Corfe
Castle, Kimmeridge and Lulworth Cove. Brilliant cliff walks on a clear day!

Tyneham (usually). Patrick Wright's "The Village that Died for England" is a
good read, both as a background to this village, and as a view of change and

Got the number from a website after searching in Google. Phoned the night
before and ended on a recorded message, saying that the range paths are
closed from now until mid July except for Saturdays and Sundays. Didn't
hear any mention of the May Bank Holiday Mondays though.
