The late John Griffith, author of Latin books for schoolchildren about television and moon landings and other things which seemed very up-to-date at the time, used to have people around for after-dinner gatherings where the conversation was largely in Latin. Oh, all right, this was a long time ago now, but then so were moonlandings. I feel old, very old. Good grief, I can remember when England won the Ashes.

Join the queue. About once a week, averaged out over the year, someone e-mails me to ask me whether I am the England wicketkeeper. It was quite spooky when, on the basis of a report in the sports slot of a Saturday morning Today programme, I got huge numbers of congratulations from random strangers on my wedding, a fortnight before it happened. I yearn for the days (i9n the mid-eighties, I think) when I used to get e-mails asking me whether I was the conductor of the Geraint Jones Singers (which I have only ever heard on 78s of my father's).
I would not mind, but it is a Very Common Name (TM). There were two of us in a class of thirty or so in my primary school, and I am only just getting over the chaos of this University's having inadvertently admitted an undergraduate with the same name three years ago.

Studied that during O Level classes. Learnt some interesting new vocabulary, including 'pinus', pine tree, which had a class of 16 year old girls howling with laughter and one attractive young male trainee teacher blushing scarlet to his ears ;-) -- Judge: A law student who marks his own papers.
