wow this weekend was an... interesting experience. We got kicked out of
the first four places we went to before we decided to go non-patrolled
areas. it was a nice warm up though since i haven't unicycled in a
while.

i guess i won't see many people next weekend because of the Toronto
thing... too bad i can't go. anyways see you all like next next
weekend.

We use it to comunicate with ottawa riders, its the best way to get
ahold of everyone including new people. Yes we could use emails, but
that limits getting ahold of new riders. Plus this is easy to keep
track of things. It's pretty funny though that it is one of the largest
threads in RSU.

I got some details from Darren regarding the Toronto thing. I guess
basketball will be started at 12:30 in their regular gym. Show up at
12:00 to get ready. I guess there will be some food afterwards.

The rest of the day will be some other events plus flaming puck hockey
later. Hopefully he will provide more info before we actually get
there. 🙂 Sunday there will be a group ride in the morning plus the
trials comp that Jeff posted about.

Darren would like to know numbers for the events and food. I haven't
really been paying too much attention to who is all coming or not. Who
is all representing Ottawa?

My tentative list is: Carl, Karl, maybe Devon, Ryan, Me, Tony, Nathan,
Scott, Ben. Who am I missing?

I guess that means we should be bringing hockey sticks, or do they have
a bunch of those plastic ones that we all used to play with in
elementary school. I love the curve you can put on those puppies, so
my fingers are crossed. If not, let me know so i will pack a stick.

That is affirmative, I am out for this weekend. Grant and I rode this
weekend though and he is still thinking that he will make it out for
both days. He was really stoked about the ride and has gotten much
better at hs street style.

Anyway, I am super bummed that i can't make it. I wish I knew how to
produce more of me and then I would be able to be in three places at
once, which is the number of places that I have to be right now, not
including the ride. So, that would make four of me total and I can
barely keep one of me straight. [censored], I would need a secretary and
three assistants and an office.

On second thought, maybe more of me isn't a good thing.

I'm not sure how much of the saturday stuff I will be interested in,
like basketball really isn't my cup of tea. Is there going to be a more
definate schedule coming? I would like to know so I can meet up with
some of my friends in Toronto at some point.

Ah carp... I probably won't make this one too... *sigh* I will be
downtown working though... so I'm there in spirit 🙂 I'd pobably be
getting off around 3, but I doubt you guys will ride that long tomorrow
assuming you didn't go today and you're starting at 11 tomorrow.

For those not on Carl's e-mail list, here's the e-mail he sent out about
the Help Santa Toy Parade this year. As in previous years, and weather
permitting, I'm hoping we can go for a trials/street ride after it's
over. It's a great opportunity to meet the other unicyclists in the
area, especially those that don't ride trials/street or don't ride that
often, and it's a lot of fun. If you are planning on going send Carl
an e-mail (carl at carlroth dot net) to let him know.

Hi Everybody,

I have registered the "Nanaimo Park Jugglers Unicycle Team" for this
event so I hope you can make it. Last year we had 18 riders and I
would like to beat that number this year. The parade is on Sat Nov 18
at 11 am. Everyone needs to be out front of City Hall by 10:30 at the
latest. Best bet is to take the free shuttles from Lansdowne park as
that is where the parade ends. There is usually free food and drinks at
the end. The parade is a lot of fun and it is for a good cause.

All you need is to wear something red or green and wear a Santa's
helper "elf" type hat if you are not wearing a helmet. If you need to
borrow a uni let me know and I will see what I can do.

Don't worry about how well you ride as the parade is slow and stops
frequently. We will have people to help. Parents are welcome to walk
along to help their children.
