    snipped was it. You'd think that the carb lobbyists who obviously affect
    the food pyramid would also be pushing the "fat doesn't kill you so much"
    line.

    snipped was it. You'd think that the carb lobbyists who obviously affect
    the food pyramid would also be pushing the "fat doesn't kill you so much"
    line.

    BTW there are plenty of other fine examples of manufactured facts:

    Saddam has WMD

    Social Security is in crisis

    Deficits don't matter

    We can become energy sufficient just by drilling holes in and around the US

    And on and on............

    I would say by the amount of people he killed in his own country, he was
    the WMD

    The OP was really aiming at statements which create "facts" to justify a
    course of action, eg:
