Yeah, hard to figure. There's a thin line from sublime to ridiculous:

An odd bit of reality twisting on an old joke.

There was a comedian who used to comment on Keef doing anti-drug
commercials (it was a court ordered penalty for Heroin posession).
Anyway, the comedian remarks "we can't do any drugs Keith. You did 'em
all! We'll have to wait until you die and smoke your ashes!".

Looks like Keef took it a little seriously and decided to try it for
himself first. Say what you want, he's a trend setter!

I watched and listened to Keith in an interview recently.
He is a good-hearted guy who is more articulate and
thoughtful than even he will give himself credit for. I
    like him.

  6. well, clean the rim with thinner then isopropyl or CHO denatured off
    course to remove the thinner
then using a fresh sharpie felt pen from walmart
    drink 3 quarts...
turn the bike over, protecting seat by removing, and blocking up
    handlebars with gallon water jug(full)
spin the wheel - you unhooked the chain right -
find a place to brace your hand while holding the pen
place pen lightly against rim and spin the wheel
now you know where the bump is
now when there's more rim outside the colored line, that where the
spokes need to be tighter stupid
ok so tape the proper spokes where that width levels off both sides
high hop spot and count total hop spot spokes, divide in half, count
from one side and tape the middle hop spot spoke.
loosen all nipples and reseat to rim.
tighten middle hopspot nipple 1/2 turn and do one side then the other.
COUNT THE SPOKES ONE SPOKE ONE SPOKE, TWO SPOKE TWO SPOKE. HOLD ONE
SIDE IN ONE HAND WHILE DOING THE OTHER SIDE. grade the turn to 1/4 as
you approach the end of the hop spot.
    then true the wheel "normally"
if the hop spot is still there after first good true, loosen spokes
directly opposite hopspot and retighten hop spot same amount say 1/3
    turn.
    then true again as normal.

  7. oh yeah they all do that. enough to write that. the cr-18 used here
always screw up just downstream of the nipple hole.

  8. "loosen all nipples and reseat to rim."
    loosen 1/4 turn sequentially
beginning with four spokes centered in four quadrents
then loosening with the either side nipple/spoke method preceeding
keeps the rim from bending during loosening.
trueing can be started this way also.

You are right Michael. He is a wild guy, but he is also a heck of a
nice guy who has done some warm things. I forget the details now, but
I remember a story about a mobility disabled girl that he heard was
very serious Stones fan, tried to catch all the shows. When Keith
found out about her he had a limo sent to pick her up for the local
    show.
