At the moment I only have a 20" learner unicycle, but I'm thinking of
uprgrading to a 20' trial and getting a 28" commuter. I'm only gonna be
able to afford one decent seat (if even that) between 2 unicycles, so
it needs to be able to suit both depending on what I'm using at the
time.
The UDC gel seat does sound like a good idea, as they reckon it suits
sif etc as well as long distance riders. Of course, they're the ones
that are selling it so it may be a wee bit bias.

I like the DX seat, I may vut down the foam and add a channel to it
maybe, but it doesnt have a fusion cover, so its either get a fusion to
fit it, or re-glue and staple, either way, it will make it better =p

if you get the gel then it may be wise to get a fusion cover, just cuz
i found that my seat got trashed by trials.

I actually like the new kh fusion better than the gel for trials, i
have had both on my trials - now the gel is on the coker, what i have
found is that the gel is more comfy for distance rather than short
periods of time - for the short period that your actually siting on the
seat in trials imho the fusion is more comfy.

but yet for distance the gel is more comfy

I live in the same town as you (probably just up the road) so if you
want to go for a ride/chat sometime then you could probably try out
both on my trials

Also if you'd like to try out a range of sizes of unicycle before you
buy your distance one we could probably be of help ( we have got 16",
couple of trials beasts 19", one muni with 2" tyre and one with 3" tyre
24", 700cc unicycle 28"/29", and a coker)

so in conclusion i think for your situtation the gel with fusion cover
would be the best option

gel with fusion cover and CF base actually. but quite expensive unless
your a serious rider 😄

There's not a lot of choice, but for $80 you can't go wrong with the
gel, it's comfy for long distance and low profile (doesn't get in your
way!) for MUni and trials. The main drawback is that it's flexy (but
so are all the other $80 saddles) but just get the reinforcement plate
if you're going to do a lot of trials or MUni.

If you want the best then buy a carbon base and fusion cover to upgrade
it with later on. You don't even need to upgrade the handle for long
distance- the std plastic handle is hard to beat. But if you really
wanted to you can add distance handles like the GB or MUni handles like
The Deathgrip.

They are freakin' hard!! Flexy bases, non removable covers, old style so
hard to grip for sif etc, Staying clear is good 🙄

has anyone ever broken one of the Velo handles?
mine looks sorta white where it would get the most stress (probably
from attempting to break the longest jump record)

ok i have been riding for 3 years, doing tricks for 6 months and being
sorta hardcore for 3 months (before that the only trick i did was a
hop-180 to backwards riding or a spin off of a wall or something
