It's lowest temp is around 250. It's an italian oven (I'm in Italy) and
doesn't have "temp" markings but numbers...1 through 8. The sheet that
housing gave me to interpret it lists number one as 250-275F or 140 C.
Setting 2 is 275-300 F and so on. There is a bit of guesswork involved.

Can you get an oven thermometer? That might help.

I realllllly need one. My circa 1965 Coppertone wall oven is
nuclear. I set it fifty degrees lower than the recipe requires, and
the food is still done in half the time. It's just going to take off
for space with my chicken in tow one of these days.

I used it last night while baking pound cake. I found out that settings
2 through 6 all make the oven 425. Setting one is 250. Settings 7 and
8 are 475. The recipe called for a 350 degree oven.

    I hate this oven.

My husband always seemed to know where to look for some adjustment screw
or something when my oven ran hot in the past.
Or call the housing office and ask them to put a repair work order in.
It'll be a long tour with a miserable oven if you don't get it taken
    care of soon.

LOL!!! Our ovens must be related!! Mine is a dud!!

I have to crank mine up to 'off the wall' on the setting to get the damn
thing to even *start* melting the cheese on my home made pizzas!!

I miss my old fan forced oven :-(
