Ever ride a trail that looks like it has not ever been ridden by a mountain biker? The horses overused and abused this gem in the middle section by riding it when wet. Yeah TJ, it was worse than the horse toilet of a trail near your place.
I did find evidence in the form of a pedal reflector in a particularly rugged section of this trail. I was only left wondering how much their hiking to riding ratio was.
The bottom third made up for the trails course in the middle, as it gave way to super buff and twisty downhill. No pics here, only a bit of haulin' ass.

Once down in the Uncompaghre Wilderness. What an amazing place. You probably get to ride even remoter stuff than that.

Looks like a tough one. Good thing there was a payoff. I hate it when I torture myself looking for that payback and never get it.

Definitely. Near the top in a thick conifer forest, the trail was literally paved with small fir cones. It was all squooshy and a bummer on the climb, but the descent was a magic carpet ride.
