Thanks all for a great ride. Monsterman & Andrew, I feel bad for not speaking to you - was too busy trying to hang on! Next time, if Paulie isn't there to push me back to the bunch, you guys will spend a lot of time waiting for me. That's if I haven't had my daily dose of EPO, of course.

I did my best to impersonate a frog in a blender (hey, my jersey has a
frog on it too!) down Dornoch for monsterman's amusement. Hit 62km/hr
on 70 gear inches, which is 184.5 rpm, weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Lovely clear, cool morning made for ideal riding conditions. We knocked
out an incident-free anti-clockwise river ride. We all managed to stay
together, despite some minor navigational confusion just before UQ...
Pace was a bit higher than the usually strict LA conditions - at the
finish my speedo was reading a bit over 26km/h ave.

LotteBum bailed out at Yeronga (nice & close to home), with Paulie
dropping off to head home as well at Dutton Park. The rest of us
enjoyed some good coffee, carbs and conversation at Peloton post-ride.

Arrgh!!! I slept in, left home at 5:35. I was thinking go clockwise and run into you guys or chase from behind. Stupidly I chose the chase option and did an hour at TT speed and must have missed you by about a minute at southbank. So much for an easy recovery ride 🙂 Glad you had a good ride anyway.

Hehehe. I've been down in Canberra and the morning was about 10 deg.
Saw some riders rocking up to the coffee shop at Kingston with
armwarmers. Good to be back!

Andrew from 30 m back you looked like road runner on speed. I'm quite confident I'd lose a few fillings (if not teeth) from the a** bouncing if I had to turn the cranks over at that rate. I pick up the new MTB tomorrow morning, and now i'm also thinking fixie .... ..... ....

It's all about the smooth cadence you're forced to develop riding a
fixie. Now if only I could crack 200rpm!

I highly recommend building up a fixie conversion, it's the most fun
you can have on two wheels. Grab a frame from bicycle revolution,
either build a decent wheelset or make a suicide hub (cog screwed to
freewheel hub with bottom bracket "lockring"😉 and you're on your way.

Pffft. I've done 180 on my roady. Second day of the christmas tour,
and I couldn't get my heart rate up, so I tried everything to remind
my legs how to turn the pedals.

Actually, in the wet one day, I've done about 350 or so, but once I
dried the contacts, both my speed and cadence came down to something
entirely more realistic 🙂

That's only the second or third time I've worn that jersey (I think I was wearing the green one) - got it for $30, so it's just a sh!tter. But the chances are, if you run red lights, that I've had a go at you for that at some stage...
