What are the most common 7 speed shimano cassette sizes, I have just ordered an 11-28 and hope this should be sufficient to my needs as currently i have a 12-20 and struggle quite considerably up a few local hills on the small front ring...
any thoughts
12-20 is a very stiff and close set of gears, perfect for a flat time trial. The 11-28 is essentially the opposite extreme, almost a mountain bike spread. It'll make life on the hills a lot easier. You might find some of the gears have an awkardly large gap between them. Beats the heck out of trying to climb with a 12-20 cog.
If the issue is need for a lower gear, what is the rationale for going from a 12T to an 11T small sprocket?

I opted for the 11-28 as it was the closest i could get with the larger sized sprockets, but like Carl said it will be more fun zooming down hills on the 11 and the 28 will make it easier to get up. It's all fitted just got to try it out.
