It started with them reviewing a paper yesterday morning.

I'm considering writing to them about a cycle lane which I think must
be the most dangerous in the country. A tall thick hedge separates it
from the main road alongside - the visibility at a car park entrance
is close to zero, and the car park is surrounded by a tall wodden
fence.

They have invited people to send in photos of the best (worst) examples.

E-mail shortly on its way suggesting they might like to do a mini series
tacking some of the other myths of cycling which are:

Cycling is dangerous
Helmets prevent injury
Cyclepaths are safe
Cycle facilities are for the benefit of cyclists

Given his ability at low speed riding, maybe a helmet is a good idea to
prevent cosmetic damage that might affect his job ;-)

I see my Salisbury photo made it onto the BBC report although they
cropped out the dual carriageway that the path launches you into against

I should have brought my fingerycam into the Nut Mines today. The Mgt
are building something in the retail park at Tottenham Hale which has
involved digging up a large chunk of the car park. Today the dug-up bit
has expanded to include the cycle path alongside. Natch there is no
notice of this, so one could go sailing blithely round the corner an
smack into a sturdy fence...

You're probably right there. What you can't see is that if you follow
this cycle path to the next major road junction and then round to the
right, there's a fine example of being dumped into a road on the wrong
side, facing the oncoming traffic...
