They're budget elastomer forks. Rock Shox only support products for 3
years ([censored]) but I expect the Pace RC7 grease would be OK if you want to
strip and clean them.

Yeah I was disappointed with the Rock Shox website. A few old pdf
manuals would help a lot of people. How easy is it to get into them. I
don't want to try it and everything shoots out everywhere and I have
no idea how to reassemble. Can I just move the rubber gaiter bits and
put some grease there? I'm basically totally clueless with regard
shocks as I've never had them before.

I would try rec.bicycles.tech as well. Someone may have a diagram. I
don't think these forks are very complicated though.

I've serviced Quadras, but a long time ago! (Plus I was never any good with
suspension - too much of a roadie!).

From what I can remember, once you've got the caps off (can't remember the
wrench size - 24mm, perhaps?) using a socket tool or similar (*not* an
adjustable wrench - you'll round the flats) you come to a fairly simple
system of elastomers and "bits". The top bit took some force to remove, I
seem to remember - be careful, because they're only plastic. Once out, it's
fairly easy to clean and regrease the parts. As Zog says, they're very
simple by suspension standards.

Sorry I can't be more help - I thought I still had a set of old Rock Shox
manuals, but I can't see them anywhere. I'll repost if I find them.

Spare parts like the bushings are hard to get now. So if the fork shows
already some play I would not bother with working at it any more.
