The darn thing is basically impossible to move. Have I gone to far?

I picked up my first suspension (only front) mtb this year. My LBS
owner told me the J1's ( have a haro v4), is only build for a
'average' person. That even comeing by replacement springs might be
differecult, and adjusting the fork for other riders (lighter,
heavier) is impossible. I'm guessing no one makes them. So I was
told that I might "want to" move to another model, V5, or manufacture
to get around the J1.
So back to your question, you want follow the directions for loading
the fork. Also understand there might be a limitation to what it can
do if you are a bigger person. I think there is a stop in the
adjustor that prevents you from going too far, so you might have maxed
it out. So back to an answer that solves so many questions, go to
your local bike shop.
I've only had my Haro v4, with a J1 for a few months, and since I'm
losting a few pounds and learning the hard lession to get weight off
the handle bars, the fork seems to work better and better with time.
