Self-catering West Scotland

I assume you've tried www.visitscotland.com?

In the listings you'll see that only some offer weekend breaks. However,
many are quiet enough at this time of year that they'll manage around
your requirements.

I stayed near Kilmelford this year (Ardenstur) - 2nd time through
Woodside Park Estates. They have a range of properties and you should
find something suitable. www.scottish-lochside-cottages.com This is just
south of Oban and is in amongst some lovely countryside.

Hi there,
Have you looked at this,
They have a 1 bedroom cottage, it's just outside Spean Bridge, about 10
miles north of Fort William. I know it's warm as my mom and dad stay there
a lot,

I had a very nice week in Gairloch last May. It was a small
self-catering place, one double bed, with everything you needed (well
everything I needed anyway) for £130. Gairloch's a nice place and the
cottage was right on the front with an absolutely stunning view over
the bay. You could have your breakfast and watch the gannets wheeling
round, folding their wings and plummeting into the sea in search of
their own meal. There were seals there too and supposedly a porpoise,
although I didn't see that. I used it as a base for doing Liathach,
Beinn Eighe, Slioch and Fionn Bheinn - Beinn Eighe was my favourite, a
fantastic mountain although it did benefit from the best weather of the
week. Anyway the proprietress was AnnBirks'at'aol'dot'com - (don't want
her to get spammed as she's a very nice lady). Don't know if she does
part weeks but you could ask.

Many thanks for the suggestions folks, these seem far more my cuppa than
anything I'd found myself. I'm sure I can get one of these for 5 days, they
can't be that busy in the [censored]-end of November!
