Since the Ergo shifter for the front derailleur isn't indexed, it works
fine.

I bought a Trek 5200 three years ago, and wanted to put my Campy Record
Triple stuff on it. The LBS owner recommended that I use an Ultegra
front derialleur, saying it would work better than Campy's. I went
along, and it has worked just fine (I don't know about "better", though,
since I never tried the Campy FD.)

Ok, the 6600 FD is in place. But now I can't find the Campy 10 speed
chain we were going to use! How well will a Shimano 10-speed chain work
with the Campy rear der and cassette?

Just fine...both are 5.9mm...

I couldn't get it to work that well. The cage is about 2mm narrower
than the Centaur, and I couldn't get it to go far enough in, so the
inner cage rubbed the chain in the largest 2 sprokets while in the
small ring. It may be a wide frame. I was also having trouble getting
the Ergo clicks to end up in useful places desåite lots of cable
jugling. We ended up putting a wider BB in and that solved our
problems. He is a big guy (65cm frame) so the extra "Q" was just a
bonus. Maybe a tripple FD or a 105 would have been wider and more
forgiving?

I wonder if it would work well with a 100% Ultegra setup? Do you know
what the chainline is for a 6600 vs Centaur crankset?
